Hello Sartori Families! My name is April Kim and I am so excited to be your PTA co-president with Abby this school year. I have 2 children enrolled in Sartori - a son in 3rd grade and a daughter in 1st grade. I was an elementary school teacher for over a decade. Most of my teaching was with Seattle Public Schools, 2 years with Renton School District, and have just finished my first year as a Preschool Director. I believe that amazing things happen when schools are able to fully partner and collaborate with families and the community. I am so thankful to have my family be a part of an educational community that values the equity, diversity, and the whole child. I love read alouds (Yay, Read-a-thon!), all types of noodles, beautiful clothes, and Sartori! It will be a roller coaster year, but I'm thankful to be holding hands and screaming (in the inside) alongside a brilliant PTA Board, teachers, and members (YOU!). Let's Go!
As Co- President this year I look forward to continuing the growth of our amazing school and volunteers. This year is going to look much different than previous, but one thing I have learned is that we are part of a very special community. As we all figure out how to navigate life with kids schooling at home I hope that PTA can still provide a sense of community and involvement. Last year, as Co-VP I was able to meet some phenomenal parents, teachers and administrators through PTA involvement. I believe that finding time to volunteer, whether it be once or continuous you will learn a lot about your child, the school and the community we are in all while meeting some great people. I am a full-time working Mom of two boys and look forward to creating opportunities within our PTA for every volunteer to be involved. As a family we enjoy fishing, camping, family movies and the Seahawks!
As Co-Vice Presidents we look forward to working together for a third year to get to know each other as an awesome PTA and Sartori Community! We have both worked with the Read-a-thon committee and look forward to seeing how all the PTA programs and events come together as we reinvent our PTA programs virtually!
I was born and raised in the south Bellevue neighborhood of Newport Hills. As a former HR data administrator, I have a love for all things data entry and excel. I currently have two students at Sartori, and will have another within the next few years. During my free time (or car rider pickup line) I enjoy hand embroidery, podcasts and audio books.
I am excited to be your PTA Treasurer this year. My husband Daniel and I have a son at Risdon Middle School and two daughters here at Sartori. We started slow, but over the last nine years our involvement in PTA has grown and I love the community that we became a part of when Sartori opened three years ago. I am looking forward to getting to know more of our amazing families and staff this year while coming together to support our Sartori community. In our free time, my family enjoys spending time with friends, going to the movie theatre, attending concerts and cheering for the Seahawks and Mariners.
